Born in Copiapó, Chile, and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Jose has acquired an extensive multicultural understanding of the world we live in today. Accompanied with a 20+ year residency in the U.S and the opportunity to travel around the world, he has found a unique perspective and understanding of people from different backgrounds. This in turn, has facilitated his ability to work in every environment and quickly create a close working relationship with crews and talent from every corner of the world.
Jose has worked closely as a director of photography, camera operator, gimbal operator and focus puller over the last decade. His career has taken him from working in the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle, the Colombian Pacific Coast jungle, the White House with the President of the United States, multiple First Ladies, and working with some of the top brands, streaming/broadcast networks in the industry. As an IATSE Local 600 member, Jose brings a unique skillset as a professional on and off set; always attentive to detail, and on the lookout for innovative ways of making his clients’ ideas a reality.
